ABOUT US:  My husband, Dennis, and I have been married fifteen years.  Between us we have four kids and five grandkids with the sixth due in February!  Two of our kids are military and have seen several tours of duty each in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc... serving our country!  We're very proud of them! 

I've raised dogs in a very small way off and on for over 25 years while holding down several jobs in our local banks, etc..  I quit my job at the bank, and have been raising Westies for about 9 years. Papillons for about 6.  We did the dog show thing for awhile but it's not for us, so no longer showing our dogs unless the breeder wants them shown and handles them for us.  The dog show world is a malicious place that we just don't enjoy at all.  We have several home grown champions under our belt now and that's enough for me.  Our other pets include an eight year old neutered rottweiler, five spayed outside cats, and a young male great pyranese pup that will be neutered soon.

Our dogs are all AKC registered and all have very nice champion pedigrees, some are champions themselves.  Pedigrees emailed upon request. We specialize in smaller then average westies, 10-16 lb range. Our papillons come in all sizes from 3-9 lbs grown.

GENETIC TESTING: Our dogs have patella's vet checked prior to breeding.  Our stud males are all DNA tested by 2 years of age. Rueben has had eyes & patellas certified.  Results were all well within the normal range on all his tests.  Any dog found to have a heriditary defect is immediately retired to a pet home! 

We live on 30 wooded acres in the Ozark Foothills, our house overloooks the scenic Strawberry River valley.  We're in Northeastern/Northcentral Arkansas within easy driving distance of Little Rock, Springfield MO, Memphis TN, St Louis...Always map us online by zip code, not town name.  There are several Evening Shades in Arkansas. 

OUR GROWN DOGS ARE NOT HOUSED IN CAGES!  I prefer to let dogs be dogs and run as much as possible on solid ground.  Most of the time they stay in large chain link pens on pea gravel, but they also often run loose on our thirty acres when not in heat.  Most of our dogs are NOT kept in show coats, I groom them for function, not show.  My handler is the one that keeps the show dogs in proper coat.

ALL our puppies are born and raised in the house. All expectant mothers are brought into the house three weeks prior to delivery and stay inside until the puppies are weaned.  Because of this, our grown dogs have adjusted very well when retired to pet homes.

We give our own shots (using vet recommended Progard 5 by Intervet), at 6, 9, 12 weeks.  If your puppy must have shots through a vet, you'll need to request that in advance and pay for it yourself.   Anything over 3 months of age will have their rabies through our vet though.

We're inspected by AKC on at least a bi-yearly basis, last inspection by John Thomas was 3/20/09, we have always been found in complete compliance in all areas.  If you need to check on us, I'm sure Mr Thomas would be glad to answer your questions about our dogs and facilities.  His email is jmt@akc.org.
